Friday Wishlist: Pleated Neck White Dress

I don't often wear dresses. I think it's a combination of the fact that I am really shortwaisted so they rarely fit right, and my intense pickiness. Deep down, I know in order for me to find a dress that I love (and that loves me back), I am going to really have to pay for it.

Can you say investment piece? Right now, all I can say is budget, budget, budget.

I spied this dress, and I can't stop thinking about it:

Calvin Klein Pleated Neck Belted Dress - $89.99 (Orig. $158.00)

What do you all think of it? Do you wear dresses? Have a crush on any particular one right now? Leave a comment!

Have a happy weekend!

{As seen on mary's wishlist - one of my favorite reads}

  1. That dress is gorgeous!! I think it might just be worth the splurge! :)

  2. I love that dress! So beautiful! I wish it came in another color though...white + baby + my skin tone = not a smart buy :)

  3. I do love it- I wouldn't look super great in it...maybe if it was black or gray. I'm SUPER in love with the Fifth Avenue dress on Shabby Apple. It was my birthday on Tuesday and my friends gave my HALF the money to buy it because they know how much I love this dress! I ordered it on Wednesday!! And I can't wait to get it!! (plus I had a 10% off, thank you cardigan empire!)
p.s. I totally believe in investment pieces, especially if they make you feel amazing and it's something you love.

  4. I absolutely agree. I saw this dress somewhere else and LOVE IT!!! I think it is absolutely gorgeous.

  5. I swear I saw this same Calvin Klein dress at TJ Maxx... I didn't try it on b/c it wouldn't look good on this postpartum body of mine right now but really LOVE this dress. I also saw it in a cobalt blue. Beautiful and classic!

  6. check out ross too! i've seen tons of calvin klein dresses on their racks - of course, much cheaper. but still totally fabulous!

  7. I think I saw a similar dress at TJMaxx or Marshalls, too. It was definitely Calvin Klein, but I think it was a little fuller in the skirt than this one. I think this one is a fabulous investment piece. The problem with me is that anything white can't be considered an investment piece simply because it won't be white for long. Fortunately, I'm pretty good at dye-ing, so when it's a little dingy looking, a bottle of dye can give it a fresh look. But I digress, I say go for it- it's beautiful.

  8. I say buy it! I don't know if my husband would let me though. But I'd probably get it in a gray.. probably because fall is here!

  9. i have this dress! i actually found it at tjmax. i would say it is a must buy, the fit is dreamy, a 40's silhouette. hope this helps with your decision.

  10. It's not available on the website in my size, but all this TJMaxx talk is making me curious if I could find it in store. I probably shouldn't get my hopes up.

My mom and I are talking about trying to make something similar if I can't find what I am looking for.

Melinda, you really are making me want to dig at TJMaxx!
