Outfit Under $100 {Mustard + Stripes}

I had the opportunity to go to one day of the Alt Design Conference last week. My friend Melissa was teaching a calligraphy class and let me assist her. It was so amazing. If you want to see a little peak into what I was working on, click here.

I met great people, attended interesting panels, and had an all-around awesome time. I met Caroline in the calligraphy class, and was totally taken with her outfit. She is also expecting (due in the spring) and was rocking an outfit that would work for any stage of womanhood. I decided to come up with my version of what she was wearing for under $100:

{Crinkled Contrast Dress - Forever 21 - $12.90}
{Beautiful Knit Scarf - Forever 21 - $10.80 (Orig. $12.80)}
{Sliver-Wedge Boots - Old Navy - $44.50}
{Fab Stirrup Leggings - Forever 21 - $4.50}
total: $72.70

Pregnancy Update

I keep forgetting to post anything about my pregnancy on here. I think a few of you are interested, so here are a few updates.

This shot is actually from a ultrasound we had way back at 14 weeks. But that cute little profile is the very best shot we have got of this little baby. Steve and I have decided that the babe has my nose + chin, and his forehead.

So, first off we are having a BOY! The hubs and I are so excited. We don't have a name picked out, but we are definitely discussing them at length.

Also, my due date has been adjusted by nearly 3 weeks. The original due date they gave me was May 11, and at the above ultrasound they adjusted it back to June 1. So, I am currently 22 weeks along.

I felt my first kick last week, and have been feeling lots of movement since that time. My ribs are already a bit sore, but I love feeling him move.

The reality of this baby's arrival is getting more and more real. I am in full-force nesting mode. I have endless energy (for which I am so grateful) and never seem to want to sit still. I haven't actually started putting the nursery together, but I have been purging, organizing, and redecorating our place. It feels so nice to get a place that is fresh and ready for a baby to come into.

Like a Star: Jayma Mays Nest Cover

Merona® Euna Pumps - Cheetah  - Target - $24.99 (these leopard flats are also a great option)
PARIS BLUES Ultra Skinny Five Pocket Jeans - 15 Dollar Store - $15.00 (Orig. $34.00)

Weekend Round-Up

This weekend there are so many sales going on I couldn't not tell you about them:

First, J.Crew hit me with this email this morning. J.Crew rarely offers 40% off (I usually get excited about 30% off), so make sure to hit this sale up!

Check out: {Wool Minnie Pant, Lace Tee, Merino Chiffon-Placket Cardigan}

_____________________________________________________________________________

Next, both Ann Taylor + the LOFT are also offering 40% of your entire purchase:

Check out: {Foiled Printed Cardigan, Drape Neck Tee, Scuba Seamed Pants}

_____________________________________________________________________________

And lastly Old Navy is offering an additional 40% off their sale section - these are major discounts!

Check out: {Skinny Cords, Striped Boat Neck Tee, Lightweight Ruffle-Trim Tops}

Hope you all have a fabulous weekend full of ridiculously good deals!

Spied: Paintstroke Flowers Dress

I love me some Forever 21. The sheer size of their inventory is something to marvel at. One of my favorite sections at Forever 21 is the Fabulous Finds. I don't think there is an item over $20 - fabulous indeed. I spotted this dress and thought it was pretty, although let me specify that I do not condone anyone wearing this little number as a dress, it's length is definitely in tunic territory as far as I am concerned. In fact, while we are on the subject, every dress at Forever 21 seems to fall into the tunic category, even the maternity dresses, which is completely nonsensical - in my humble opinion. Anyway, on to the dress/tunic:

Paintstroke Flowers Dress - Forever 21 - $15.50

What do you think? Is it something you would wear? Leave your thoughts below.

Look for Less: Leifsdottir Ruffle Sleeve Tee

I saw this look for less and thought I would pass it along:

Leifsdottir Ruffle Sleeve Tee - Nordstrom - $118.00 {currently sold out}
Merona® Jill Knit Top - Dogbone - Target - $19.99

Is this something you would wear? Leave your thoughts below.

William Riera Review + Giveaway

I was recently contacted by William Riera, a dress company, asking me to review a dress. I was excited to get a new dress that might work with the bump. I ordered this Camilla Dress:

{Camilla Dress - $69.00}

I am quite sure I will be able to wear this dress until nearly full term.

(Look, I found the light! My ANTM lessons are paying off.)

Now I get to do one of my favorite things, offer all of you a giveaway! William Riera has kindly offered to give the winning reader any item of their choice {up to a $60 value}.

You can enter in the 4 ways listed below. Each entry must be notified in the form of a comment on the blog.

The Giveaway ends on Sunday, January 16, at 10 PM (Mountain Standard Time).

Good luck.

Inspired: LOFT {Looks We Love}

I recently got an email from the LOFT, telling me their fashion director had just put together 20 looks featuring this seasons must-have pants. I headed over to check it out. I thought the pants were nice, but was much more taken with other details that were consistent through out the looks. Most specifically, the use of stripes, pops of coral, and floral pins. Here are a few of my favorites:

I gathered a few pieces that I think would help all of us make similar looks of our own:

1 - Nautical Striped Cardigan - Forever 21 - $17.80
2 - Ladder Rib Scarf - Free People - $19.95 (Orig. $28.00)
3 - Striped Sweater - Forever 21 - $19.90 {my favorite}
4 - Tweed Flower Pin - The Limited - $2.99 (Orig. $16.90)
5 - Cotton Basic Tee - Forever 21 - $8.80
6 - Mesh Flower Clip - Charlotte Russe - $5.50 {also make sure to check out these hair clips}

What do you think of the looks? Are they something you would try to recreate at home? Leave your thoughts below.

Inspired: Kate Spade {word of the day}

I haven't done an expensive outfit for less in a ridiculously long time. I saw this Kate Spade outfit and thought it was fabulous.

Here is my budget version:

Houndstooth Flat - Spiegel - $24.99
Faux Fur Cheetah Coat - Forever 21 - $34.80
Racerback Chain Strap Silk Tank Top - Nordstrom - $39.97 (Orig. $98.00)
Classic 5-Pocket Skinny Jeans - Forever 21 - $9.50
Nylon Puffer Tote - Gap - $14.99 (Orig. $29.50)
total: $124.25

I was really disappointed when I couldn't find a budget version of that typewriter tote. C'est la vie. What do you think of the look? Is is something you would wear? Leave your thoughts below.

Reader Request: Skinny Trousers

I received this request from Rebecca earlier this week,

Hello! So I have been looking everywhere for skinny black pants that I can wear to work. I keep finding ones that are either super trouser/bootleg style, or total leggings.. making them way to tight around the ankle and squeeze my butt shape, lol.. making them not so work appropriate.

I am just looking for SLIM black pants (fit like nice skinny jeans but not the same material). Any help or ideas?

I know that the Ann Taylor brands have wonderful options, but they tend to run on the pricey side. So, I went back to one of my standard brands, Old Navy. They have at least 3 great options for under $35.

Women's Skinny Cropped Pants - $34.50
Skinny Cropped Perfect Khakis - $12.97 (Orig. $29.50)
Skinny Ankle-Zip Trousers - $29.50 (I have these in olive, and really like them)

Also, as a side note, I am sort of obsessed with these pants:

Essential Cropped Trousers - $9.47 (Orig. $32.50)

These could be awesome or awful, and it probably depends on your body type. But I am lusting after them either way.

Do you have any tips for finding slim trousers, or have a thought to share on the options I have posted? Leave your thoughts below.
