I just love how it turned out:
thrifted mint skirt - $2
thrifted vintage heels - $7 | similar here | and here
j.crew belt - $1.50 | another option here
I found this great Megan Nielsen tutorial for a reversible scallop hem skirt from scratch to be helpful.
I don't expect this to be my last scallop project, so next time I'll try to have more of a tutorial.
Have you refashioned anything lately? Leave a link so we can all check it out!
You've done a really nice job with the scalloped hem line. Really sweet.

ReplyDeleteSuch a great color and shape! I'm jealous of your thrifting finds -- makes me want to move back to Texas!
ReplyDeleteJust found your blog! Amazing!
ReplyDeletehow cute! Can I just send you a skirt and you do it for me? I think my scallops would end up looking more like daggers :)
ReplyDeleteThe scallops are such a cute idea. Nice job!
ReplyDeletei love this DIY! so cute.
Deletethe skirt is really cute, but I'm commenting because I'm wearing the same shirt today! I bought it after I saw your post on the J Crew sale. The fun polka dots make me so happy, so thanks for the recommendation!
ReplyDeleteAdorable skirt! Wish I could sew (and/or had a sewing machine) to make something similar!
ReplyDeleteawesome once again!!
ReplyDeleteI love this! I think you did a great job; I've been drooling over images of scalloped hems on shorts and skirts this spring, but they've all been too short for me. The idea of buying a skirt that's too long and scalloping the hem is genius, and you executed it with panache, as usual. I look forward to seeing a full-blown tutorial at some point.
ReplyDeleteHi!
ReplyDeleteI really love this idea and I'm hoping to re-create it soon! I wanted you to know that I'm including this on my little blog. Thanks for the idea!
I love this skirt! So cute :)
ReplyDeleteOh, I love this so much! The scallops are sweet and unexpected.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE this look so much! I'd like to wear pencil skirts to work but I don't want to look like a career robot. THIS adds such a subtle feminine touch to it and the color is fabulous!
