So, I spent my weekend deconstructing my favorite pair of jeans that are way to big in the waist (let's face it, they are too big everywhere - I bought a size too big because they were an amazing price). I am implementing Susan's tutorial that I posted about Friday and I really think it's going to be good when I finally finish. I, unfortunately, somehow spent 6 hours picking seams and pinning. haha. I decided to take in the entire leg of my pants from waist to hem, and it took longer than I anticipated (as with all of my DIYs). It is finally ready to sew, and by the end of this evening, I am going to be completely in love with my perfectly fitting pants. Hooray.
I also have to tell you guys that I went thrifting for the first time in a long time, and I actually came away a very happy lady. I found an Ann Taylor pencil skirt, new with tags (with an original price of $88 I might add) in my size. I am completely in love with it. I mean I am carrying it around the house with me just so I can look at it. I think my husband is starting to realize how crazy I am. I also found some black leather riding boots for $10 at one of my fav buy sell and trade stores. It was an awesome shopping weekend, I wish you had been there. And so does Steve, because he was there, and not nearly so jazzed about the skirt and boots as I was. haha.
In other news, Über-Chic for Cheap has it's own fancy Facebook page. So, if you're on Facebook (and really, who isn't?) I would love if you would join. I will post updates on sales and deals fairly often, and it will contain information that isn't always posted here. So, check it out!

I would love to answer any questions you have. It would make my day if your email address is linked in your profile. If you're not sure if it's linked, you can add it by following these instructions.
I have tried thrifting before and one of my favorite new stores is Clothes Mentor. It is a buy and sell shop, but in my area it takes more sophisticated clothes (because of the area it is in.) I wish that we had more thrifting places nearby. Can't wait to see how the pants reconstructing turns out!
