TULLE'S DAY!

Thanks to a reader tip, I signed up for Tulle's mailing list. I received this lovely little tid bit in my email the other day:

Apparently the sale starts at Midnight, Pacific Time tonight. If you are anything like me, you might be staying up late to jump the gun! Find Tulle's sale section here.

Let me know if you order anything, and more importantly how you like it when you get it!

Reader Request: Anthropologie Look

I received a lovely email from Lizney asking me if I could put together an Anthropolgie look for less for her. Here is what I came up with (for under $100, I might add):

Top:

I have two options on the top because I could not find everything I was looking for in one place. The light blue top maintains the ruffle details and comes with a belt to nip in at the waist. The pink top is on in the color department, but doesn't come with a belt. It also loses some of the romance without the obvious ruffle, but I think the pintuck detail is quite fetching. If it were me, I would wear option 2 with a pink or white ribbon as a belt.

Diaphanous Tunic - Anthropologie
Belted Pinstriped Woven Tunic - Forever 21
Pintucked Crinkle Tunic - Forever 21

Scarf:

Tiana Scarf - Delia's
Metallic Zigzag Scarf - Anthropologie

Pants:

Skinny Knit Pant - Forever 21
Joe's Knit Chelsea - Anthropologie

Boots:

Belted Boots - Charlotte Russe
Tawny Acres Boots - Anthropologie

What do you all think? Does it feel like the original? Would you wear it? Leave a comment!

Friday Wishlist: Carbon Schoolboy Blazer

I need a blazer. An amazing blazer that fits me like a tailor made it especially for me. I am on the hunt. And this may need to be a substantial purchase for me (something I shy away from). Anyway, I found this little number:

Heather Carbon Schoolboy Blazer - $188 from where else? J.Crew

Do you guys have a blazer? Where did you get yours? Leave a comment!

Thanks so much for reading,

Hope you all have a lovely weekend!

Check it Out

I was out a bit late last night, enjoying the company of a group of wonderful friends. So, today I have just a few tidbits.

{Image from YHO}

First, I have read about the Designer Consigner going on here in SLC several places (including YHO).

You can read about the details here, check out the list of brands here. Go through your closet, and take your pieces to the Spa Vitoria (5445 S. Highland Drive) on September 1. If you actually have designer clothes to consign (lucky you), you should definately check it out!

Designer Consigner Sale
September 4, 2 - 8 p.m. and September 5, 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.
Clothing drop-off September 1, 5 - 8 p.m.

Also, I just found a very new blog that I am totally digging called mary's wishlist, and I think it's worth checking out. Mary's sense of style and sense of blog (yes, I said that) is totally up my alley, and since I am digging it so much, I bet you will too.

Do you have anything you want everyone to check out? For me to check out? Leave a comment, I would love to hear from you.

Urban Outfitters: Sale Edition

I don't do a lot of shopping at Urban Outfitters. I don't know that I am hip or urban enough for many of their things. But, they are the sister store to inspiration favorite Anthropologie, so continue to look. Anyway, I took a looksee through their sale section. Here are the goods:

1. Kimchi Blue Crochet Sleeve Bubble Top - $24.99 (Orig. $38.00)
2. Jeffrey Campbell Scaled Heel - $59.99 (Orig. $128.00)
3. Long Sleeve Bib Top - $19.99 (Orig. $48.00)
4. Colour Filigree Drops - $14.99 (Orig. $28.00)
5. Mystic Wings Tank - $14.99 (Orig. $24.00)
6. Double Skinny Flower Headband - $19.99 (Orig. $24.00)

Check it out!

Look for Less: J.Crew

I have another look for less today. I got my new J.Crew catalog this weekend, and this look automatically jumped off the page. Of course it rings in at $392.50 {and that doesn't even include shoes!}:

Here's my look for less (for just under $100):

Printed Dress - Newport News - $29.99 (orig. $35.00)
Cardigan - New York and Co. - $14.78 (orig. $36.95)
Jersey Scarf - Old Navy - $7.00 (orig. $10.00)
Colossal Zippered Handbag - Forever 21 - $22.80

Because they don't show shoes and we are on the cusp of a season change, I thought of two options. While it is still warm outside this sweet little flats ($18.80 - Forever 21) will do the trick. As soon as frost starts appearing on the windshield, throw on some tights and the flat brown boots ($24.99 - AMI Clubwear) to stay warm and fashionable.

Friday Wishlist: Canvas Pencil Skirt

I often see things online that I love but could not, would not ever pay for. I never share these things because I am supposed to be sharing my budget finds with you all, but I think once a week I am going to share some of my dream clothing items (you know the ones I actually dream about someday obtaining and wearing every single day).

This week I am sharing this incredible pencil skirt from my new favorite store Tulle.
Denim Canvas Pencil Skirt - $70.00

How amazing is it? Now, I am partial to pencil skirts, because frankly my figure and pencil skirts are best friends. But the pleating, buttons, and zipper in the back are ridiculously incredible. I must be watching too much Mad Men, and envying Joan Holloway's insane body and perfectly 60's style. I just have mod on the brain.

What do you all think? Do you have dream lists of things you could never afford? What's first on your list? Leave a comment!

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Store Spotlight: Shade Clothing

I got a question after yesterday's post about Shade Clothing.

Lauren (our newest follower) said:

"I've never heard of Shade clothing... where do you buy?"

It's easy for me to forget that not all the readers of this blog are familiar with my local stores and products. Shade is a brand that has only been around since 2004, and has locations in Utah and Arizona. It is quickly expanding across our region and of course offers online shopping to those of you not living nearby.

According to their website, the creator of Shade, Chelsea Rippy, created Shade because of her frustration at not being able to find modest, hip clothing. (Hip being the operative word... I find plenty of hip things that make me feel completely exposed and lots of modest things that make me feel like I am 30 years older than I am....)

I don't always buy things at full price here (they are moderately priced) but I love a good Shade sale. They also have wonderful basics. Plus, they are currently offering an extra 25% off of their clearance items {like those things I posted yesterday}. So, if you haven't yet, check them out!

Lauren, thanks for your question! If any of you ever have a question, don't hesitate to ask!

Six Little Things

Elaine at Clothed Much tagged me for Six Little Things That Make Me Happy. Before I give you my 6 Little Things, I will show you 6 Little Things to make you happy {they are all cute and under $20}:

1 - Double Pocket Tulip Skirt - $14.99 (Orig. $36.50), Shade Clothing (Online this is only available in XL, but when I left the Gateway location had XS, L, XL left in stock.)
2 - Teal Peep Toe Flats - $19.50, Old Navy (Available in 4 colors, half sizes available online only)
3 - Beaded Flower Tee - $14.50 (Orig. $24.50), American Eagle (Notice the super cute beadwork representing the pollen.)
4 - Floral Vines Halter Cami - $19.95 (Orig. $24.50), American Eagle (I want this so badly, but it is no longer available in my size.)
5 - Geometiric Shift Dress - $14.99 (Orig. $38.50), Shade Clothing (I do not buy dresses often, but I did buy this, and I totally dig the Mad Men vibe of this one.)
6 - Floral Tank - $10, Old Navy (I cannot resist a floral tank. Period.) {Also, Old Navy is offering areas in their stores and online with things that are priced at just $5, $10, and $15; this was one of those things}

As a side note, I went belated birthday shopping with my Mom on Saturday and bought 1, 2, 5, 6. I am also hoping to recreate 3 with some fabric paint and beads... I have the supplies, I just have to get the motivation. So, you are getting a window into what I really buy with this post.

PS - Thanks for all the wonderful clothes, Mom.

Here are my 6 little things:

1
My favorite person in the whole world, my husband
{and going on adventures with him}

2

Anthropologie: The Look for Less

I am back from Alaska. I had an absolutely fabulous time, and went on amazing adventures. But, in many ways, I am happy to be home. Out of all the conveniences that I went without, wearing beautiful things, that I feel beautiful in was the thing I missed the very most.

I found this Anthroplogie outfit that mixes beautiful feminine details with a masculine touch.

I have compiled a look for less for well under $100:

Boyfriend Blazer - Spiegel
Floral Silk Dress - Forever 21
Headband - Etsy {from seller thocon76}
Elephant Necklace - Forever 21
Ballerina Flats - Newport News

What do you think of the look? And what do you think of the look for less? Leave a comment!
