Store Spotlight: Shade Clothing

I got a question after yesterday's post about Shade Clothing.

"I've never heard of Shade clothing... where do you buy?"

It's easy for me to forget that not all the readers of this blog are familiar with my local stores and products. Shade is a brand that has only been around since 2004, and has locations in Utah and Arizona. It is quickly expanding across our region and of course offers online shopping to those of you not living nearby.

According to their website, the creator of Shade, Chelsea Rippy, created Shade because of her frustration at not being able to find modest, hip clothing. (Hip being the operative word... I find plenty of hip things that make me feel completely exposed and lots of modest things that make me feel like I am 30 years older than I am....)

I don't always buy things at full price here (they are moderately priced) but I love a good Shade sale. They also have wonderful basics. Plus, they are currently offering an extra 25% off of their clearance items {like those things I posted yesterday}. So, if you haven't yet, check them out!

Lauren, thanks for your question! If any of you ever have a question, don't hesitate to ask!

Thanks for reading!

  3. Lauren, I just remembered that there are stores throughout the country selling some of Shade Clothing's products. You can find the list of those, here. {There is one in Chicago... you'll have to let me know what you find if you get there!}

    And good call on the shift dress!

  4. Hey Madeline! I just came back from Gateway and got the skirt!! I'm so glad because it is AMAZING. I love the fabric and it fits so well. I got a size smaller so I can wear it higher on my waist. I got the blue dress too but after trying it on again and again, I don't think it's really me which is too bad. I need more dresses! Anyway, I would love to see how you'd style the blue and/or green/white dress on here! Maybe I won't return it....I want to but my husband doesn't. (Weird....)

  5. Elaine! I am so glad that you got the skirt. In truth, you were my inspiration for wanting a white skirt in the first place. I also bought the skirt to wear right at my waist.

    I wasn't sure about green dress either (for me) I loved it on the model and on the hanger, I am just not generally a dress wearer (sounds like we are in the same boat there). The one thing I did with my dress that made a HUGE difference was to wear it with a skinny belt right at the waist. It changed the whole sillhoute, and how I felt in it. {My husband is a sucker for me in dresses too... where does that come from? haha}

    That's an interesting idea for me to show my own styling. I could probably do that, I just never have. I'll try and get on that, I plan to wear the dress on Sunday. So maybe look for a post on that.

    Thanks for always commenting!
