Sometimes I am not a very good shopper. I always find a deal, don't get me wrong, but that's part of the problem. Sometimes I get sucked into buying something I don't need because it's a good deal.
After my last closet purge, I have decided to change how I approach shopping. Rather than going shopping with absolutely nothing specific in mind, I will have a running list of things I need or want in my mind ahead of time.
In honor of this decision, here's my fall wish list.
What's on your fall wish list?
I keep a running list both on my computer (for internet shopping) and on my phone (for in-person shopping), and try really hard to stick to it. Some of the things on my list have been there for years, just waiting to be found. I kind of like that, because I know if I've kept them there that long, I must REALLY want that one item, and not just be lusting after it for a few months. Good luck with your new system!

Oooh, this is such a good idea for thrift shopping/shop shopping. I'm terrible about seeing something cute that is a good bargain and thinking OH THAT SHOULD BE MINE....instead of being completely honest about what I look good in/what I like.
ReplyDeleteAs for my Fall list, I'll definitely have to think about that. But, I'm crushing pretty hard on those purple pants.
I have recently put myself on a shopping ban. I fell into the trap of finding bloggers whose style I like and then trying to copy them. I got to the point where I don't know what "I" like anymore. I was spending too much money. What I have always wanted to do is to have enough money in my shopping account to have a splurge on things that "I" like. I am going to hold out until Christmas and then, maybe by that time, I will be un-brainwashed (Hee Hee) enough that I can go shopping and know what I really want. I have been on this ban for a week and it has been really liberating. I am actually sleeping better at night and am being more appreciative of all that I already have. Basically, my plan for Fall is to sew up alot of the fabric that I have in my stash. I have plans for some really cute jackets, skirts, and dresses.
ReplyDeleteI have this leopard print skirt, make sure to get a size up, its VERY tight and will ride up way above your knees if thats a concern ;) I'm usually a s, so this skirt in m is perfect!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the tip, Naomi!
DeleteThis is a nice looking collection. I also like your idea of having a plan when you shop. I should make more wishlists like this so I can remember things when I first see them.
ReplyDeleteI JUST blogged about this yesterday! I call it "Shop Before You Shop." :) http://rhymeswithlaundry.blogspot.com/2012/08/shop-before-you-shop.html
