Look for Less: J.Crew Oxford Ballet Flat

I was actually shocked when I noticed these Oxford Ballet Flats in J.Crew's most recent catalog this weekend. Not because they aren't adorable, or because I thought they didn't fit in at J.Crew (they totally do). I have just never seen a style start at a cheaper retailer and be copied by a more expensive outfit. I posted on the UO version of these shoes last summer (and I love them just as much today as I did then).
Oxford Ballet Flats - J.Crew - $138.00
Kimchi Blue Two-Tone Wingtip Skimmer - Urban Outfitters - $34.00
And to top it all off, J.Crew's version only comes in black+white, while UO's version comes in either black+white or brown+white (which I prefer).
What do you guys think? Is this a style you would wear? Leave your thoughts below.

I'm all about the UO shoes. They're really cute and the fact that they come in brown and white is a plus!

ReplyDeleteI honestly don't know how I didn't know about your blog before Alt. It's on so many of my friends' blogrolls! This is simply one of those unbelievable finds that makes you say "how are they able to charge so much!" I also super loved your Kate Spade look-alike outfit. You must spend so much time creating your posts and I thank you for the effort and attention you put into your blog.
ReplyDeleteI fell in love with a pair similar (black and white) in one of those off-price stores; can't remember the brand of the shoes. I wanted to buy them so much but the the only pair in my size was white and gold, and I wasn't crazy with that color combo.
