Denim on denim is a look that I love. In fact, it's a look that I've worn for the past three days. (My denim shirt somehow conceals all the spit-up stains that usually adorn my shoulders, so I'll be wearing it for the foreseeable future.)
I've heard more than once that the trick with wearing more than one denim (or chambray) piece at a time is contrast - pair a medium-wash top with dark bottoms, for example, and you'll hit the look just right:
While chambray shirts are everywhere right now, I like the Western feel of these buttoned breast pockets - it adds to vintage 70s charm of the outfit (emphasized also by the flared jeans that I'm almost positive the model is wearing). Here's how you can recreate the look for under $100:

P.S. I've been trying to picture in my head what shoes should go with this outfit, but I'm a little bit stumped. Chunky clogs? Classic pumps in a bright color? Flat, barely-there leather sandals? I'd love to hear your ideas! What shoes would you add to this look?

ReplyDeleteI think I might try a chunky sandal, like these.
ReplyDeleteI agree with the chunky sandal idea for this. I like something low to mid-heel height with metallic gold. Example: http://www.lastcall.com/p/Kelsi-Dagger-Calico-Mid-Heel-Sandal-Gold/prod16200027/
