I was at Target looking for the perfect lightweight sweater or long sleeve tee to paint some hearts on when I found this top.
It was a little on the loose side and the back was definitely too long, but it was a great start (and only $5!) All it took was a little tailoring and some bronze paint.
I cut out a heart shaped stencil and lined the inside of the shirt with freezer paper to keep the paint from bleeding through. I painted the hearts on with a brush and voila. I'm pretty stoked with how it turned out.

Adorable! What kind of paint do you use? You should start your own online boutique. I would definitely buy your designs.

P.S. To answer Vivian (my browser at school will not let me click "reply"!), I bet if you laid pieces of yarn/paper down on the fabric and painted over it, you could get that crinkly effect.
ReplyDeleteAgreed. Good idea.
DeleteLove this! What a great idea. I will definitely be doing this in the near future.
