This Week

Simone is off of oxygen and finally done with antibiotics. She's back to her temperamental self.

Here are a few links to take you into the weekend:

Anthropologie has the prettiest one pieces {like this one, and this one, and this rashguard}
How dreamy is this statement necklace?
I desperately want these shoes in gold {they would go with everything}
I want to wear blouses all day, every day
This grey ponte sheath is fantastic {and so is the price}
This sweater DIY is super clever.
Is it weird that I want this book? Because I do.

I'm hoping to take it easy this weekend. And maybe hang the last of the artwork?
What about you??

Look for Less: Anthropologie Dita D'Orsay Flats

I have fallen head over heels for these sweet little flats. I found myself thinking about them on enough occasions that I felt compelled to find something similar in my price range.

Dita D'Orsay Flats - Anthropologie

(all under $40)

What do you think? Is this a style you would wear?

A Picture is Worth {No. 1}

By fashion contributor Mary.

Hi, everyone! I'm so excited to be writing regularly here on Über Chic as a fashion contributor. Pinterest is one of my very favorite ways to waste what free time I have, so it seemed only fitting to use Pinterest as a starting point for the posts I'll be writing for Madeline. Every Wednesday I'll pick an image that I think is sartorially inspiring, and then show you how to can recreate the same feel for as little money as possible.

This first image features a top from Hackwith Design House. It's an absolutely gorgeous top, simple and flowy and flattering, but it also costs $135, and it's sold out.

For less than the price of the Hackwith top, you can get a similar outfit. Bonus: all of these pieces are classic and would work in an endless combination of looks:

hat || jeans || shoes
top {other options: one, two, three}
pendant {but my heart belongs to this one}
tote {I also love this one}

What do you think? Is this something you would wear? Have you found anything inspiring on Pinterest lately?

You can follow Mary on Pinterest here and Madeline on Pinterest here.

This Week

This week was a tough one - maybe one of the hardest weeks of my life. Miss Simone went from having a cold to being taken to the emergency room with pneumonia. We happened to be visiting family in Wyoming when she was at her worst. We stayed 2 days in the hospital 6 hours from home. Luckily she improved enough for us to drive back to Utah. She's still on oxygen but I am hoping beyond hope that she will be taken off before the weekend begins. If you want to read more about our weekend, check my instagram.

Here are a few links to take you into the weekend:

I think this Anthro dress is pretty fantastic (and such a great price!)
These pants might be the perfect thing for spring.
Did you pick your favorite glasses frames for me? These are my fave.
I am loving this contrast blouse.
I think these pastel picks for spring are perfection.
Is it too early to get excited about wearing sandals?
I have been rewatching this show and still can't believe it was cancelled.

We are definitely taking it easy this weekend. What about you?

Hello: Warby Parker {Help Me Pick New Frames}

I've seen Warby Parker frames floating around the web but I didn't know much about them. Did you know that not only are their frames vintage inspired and hip but they are actually really reasonably priced? And did you also know that for every pair purchased a pair of glasses is given to someone in need. Pretty rad.

I ordered 5 of my favorite frames through their home try-on program and wondered what you guys think?

As much as I love the heavy framed vintage frames, I think the modern blue frames mixed with the warm brown earpieces are the best fit for me. What do you think?

Warby Parker has released two new collections to ring in 2014. The Spring Collection  introduces eight new shapes and six new colors, while the Palm Canyon Collection refreshes some of their best-loved frames in a palette of mesquite, acacia, ironwood, and sand. Make sure to check them out.

I stumbled on this coat on clearance & have worn it every day since.
I think this skirt is the perfect thing to jump start my spring wardrobe.
These flat leather boots are such a great price.
This is the best tutorial for tailoring jeans at the waist.
My stylist highly recommends this dry shampoo.
These animal print shoes are killing me dead.
I finally ordered this book and can't wait to read it.

We are headed on a short road trip this weekend. What are your plans?

Must Have: Asos Knee Length Skirts

I am getting so ready for bare leg weather. I am sure the unusually warm weather we have had in Utah is a fluke and we'll have several snow storms before I can really dig into my summer wardrobe. In the mean time, I'll dream about wearing one of these (all under $40!):

1 - Pencil Skirt In Color Block
2 - A-Line Skirt in Leather Look
3 - Selected Maxima Skirt
4 - Belted Pencil Skirt in Longer Length
5 - CURVE Exclusive Midi Skirt In Stripe
6 - Skirt In Abstract Print With Fluro Binding
7 - Full Midi Skirt
8 - Pencil Skirt with Leather Look Front
9 - Check Print Pencil Skirt

Don't forget Asos offers free shipping and returns on all orders!

Eighteen Free Script Fonts

Like Madeline, I'm kind of a font nerd. I remember how, at eight years old, I was incredibly jealous of a friend who had Kristen installed on her computer, because I thought it was the coolest font ever. (I'll give you a minute to finish laughing at my terrible taste...) Since Valentine's Day is coming up soon, I thought I'd put together some of my favorite (free!) script fonts, to help you write a love letter, send a sweet note with flowers, or just get in a more romantic mood. I hope you enjoy!

Review: The Jones Market Color Pop Necklace

Candis of The Jones Market was kind enough to send me one of her beautiful baby friendly necklaces and I am head over heels. I love the proportions and beautiful wood tone of the non-toxic beads (perfect for Simone to pull & suck on).

The Jones Market was born in January of 2012 after Candis made her first necklace as a gift for a friend and ended up with word of mouth orders. Drew Jones has been selling his artwork locally and nationwide for over 8 years. They have two magical children and every ounce of time & effort they put into their shop is for them.
