Maternity Finds: Old Navy

It's been awhile since I did a maternity clothing post, and I thought it was about time. I am a bit disappointed with the Love 21 Maternity selection right now. The really cute items come and go so quickly (and they are all gone at the moment, if you ask me).

I found a few things at Old Navy that I am digging right now.

1 - Maternity Bow-Neck Top - $16.50
2 - Maternity Twisted-Waist Jersey Dress - $29.50
3 - Maternity Fleece Double-Breasted Jacket - $39.50
4 - Maternity Sequined Cardigan - $36.50
5 - Maternity Low-Rise Denim Leggings - $34.50
6 - Maternity Embellished Jersey Tee - $16 (Orig. $16.50)

Look for Less: Madewell Sparkle Cardigan

I spotted this Madewell look for less and just had to share:

Sparkle Cardigan - Madewell - $98.00
Metallic Foil Cardigan - Forever 21 - $32.00

The F21 version has a bit more shimmer and larger buttons, but offers a similar style at a fraction of the price. What do you think? Is this a look you would wear? Leave your thoughts below.

Outfit Under $100 {Polka Dots + Pearls}

I saw this polka dot top at Old Navy this weekend and was immediately reminded of a bit of this J.Crew polka dot top. Here's the outfit I built around it:

Ruffled Keyhole Top - Old Navy - $24.50
Facet-Button Cardigan - Old Navy - $15.00 (Orig. $29.50)
Pearl Embellished Stretch Bracelet - Charlotte Russe - $10.50
Link Boot - Alloy - $14.99 (Orig. $46.90)
Ribbed Waist Jeggings - Forever 21 - $15.80
total: $80.79

What do you guys think? Is this a look you would rock? Leave your thoughts below.

J.Crew Fall Sale

J.Crew let me know that they have tons of new markdowns included in their fall sale.

This is a fabulous time to score a new swim suit from J.Crew at a fabulous discount. I know it's a weird time (that's why it's the best time to buy), but if you are in the market for a new suit, make sure to scope the selection. Here are a few of my favorite things:

1 - Silk Posy Tee - $39.99 (Orig. $49.50)
2 - Cupro Élan Trouser - $29.99 (Orig. $98.00)
3 - Solid Twist-Front Bandeau Tank - $29.99 (Orig. $80.00)

Style File: Jena {Family Photo Shoot}

I got an email request last week from Jena,

Hello! This is short notice but my husband and I were asked by a photographer to pose in a pumpkin patch early next week, the 3 of us decided that since no kids would be in the photo we didn't want them too "Halloween" themed but also not too Fall-ish. We decided that a small horizontal black and white stripe, probably on me, would pop nicely against the pumpkins and still get the look we are going for.

My delima, I don't want to look like an inmate or like I am an additional 12 inches wide! I was thinking maybe some kind of layering over a striped T but I've never worn stripes so I don't know! I also thought about a scarf as well. I am clueless about what my husband should wear. Since our backdrop will be green and orange I am unsure about adding another color (I also have red hair!).

ANY help you could give would be amazing and I will send you some photos of how it turned out!

Thank you so much!

God bless,
Jena Leigh

Blog Love: The Daybook

Many many many thanks to Tanya from What Would a Nerd Wear for sending me to The Daybook. It's totally my new favorite blog and I just found it two days ago - don't worry I have read just about all of the archived posts.

The Daybook is two parts outfit of the day style blog and one part lifestyle blog. Sydney's stylish, personable, and modest to boot! And I can't forget about the blog's showcase of solid photography. Can I just tell you how refreshing it is to find a modest fashion blog that is this good? Best. Modest. Fashion. Blog. Ever.

Have any of you been following The Daybook? Any new blog loves you want to share with the rest of us? Leave your thoughts below.

Reader Review: Wet Seal Basic Flat Boot

I got this reader review from Meghann of Happy Yonder:
I wanted to let you know that I bought the Steve Madden look-a-like boots that you featured awhile back.  They were only about $15 from Wet Seal.  I got the brown color.  They areeh.okay.  The brown looks pretty cheap.  Overall, the fit is perfect (they fit over my calves), they were true to size, and they are really comfy.  That being said, I would advise people to get them in BLACK, which Im sure would look a little less cheap.
Here are the boots Meghann is talking about:

They are sold out, but this very similar option is still available:
Basic Buckle Flat Boot - Wet Seal - $29.50
Did anyone else spring for these boots? Leave your thoughts below.

Look for Less: J.Crew Jaspé Sequined Slouchy Sweatshirt

I was perusing the Forever 21 website last night, and spotted this sequined slouchy sweatshirt, reminiscent of a similar J.Crew item from last year.

Jaspé Sequined Slouchy Sweatshirt (Sold Out) - J.Crew - $150.00
Sequin Mesh Panel Sweater - Forever 21 - $19.80

Granted, I prefer the monochromatic color scheme of the J.Crew version to the F21 option.

What do you think? Is this a look you would be willing to try? Leave your thoughts below.

PS - Am I the only person who thinks that America's Next Top Model should give their winner's contracts with Forever 21 instead of Covergirl? Notice that model above is Nicole Linkletter, winner of Season 5? Also spotted in their catalog work? Nicole Fox - Cycle 13 winner, Annaleigh Tipton - Cycle 11, Whitney Thompson - Cycle 10 winner. Have you noticed any other contestants affiliated with Forever 21?

And while we are at it... anyone care to leave their thoughts about this season? I am sort of loving Ann, I know, I know, she's awkward. I dig her anyway. Oh and I think I'll go ahead and call Kayla for the win. Leave your thoughts below.

Outfit Under $100 {Tiers + Cheetah}

I think it's fair to admit that I am completely obsessed with cheetah print this fall. I think it's one of the most wearable + attainable trends as of late. When I saw these cheetah print heels, I fell head over heels for them {excuse the pun}. I built this outfit around them:

Interrupted Ruffles Tank - Anthropologie - $29.95 (Orig. $58.00) {also loving this cheaper option from Old Navy}
V-Neck Cardigan - Old Navy - $20.00 (Orig. $24.50)

Ponte Knit Moto Pants - Forever 21 - $17.80

Pantone Color Forecast Fall 2010 {Lipstick Red + Living Coral}

A few months ago, I started a series to highlight the Pantone fashion color report for this fall {find the full report here}. The report for spring has already been released, but I am resigned to continue living in the moment of the current fall season. Today we are talking about lipstick red + living coral.

Can I tell you how excited I am that coral is in this fall? I am always sad to put away the lively colors of spring to be replaced by the more serious autumn color line up. Here are my color picks:

1 - Naomi Scoop Neck LS - Delia's - $19.40 {2 for $25}
2 - Puff Sleeve Silk Top - Forever 21 - $24.80
3 - Triple Skinny Belt Set - Forever 21 - $7.80
4 - Poppie Jones Selma Satchel - DSW - $34.95 (Orig. $55.00)
5 - Round Toe Pump - Wet Seal - $10.00 (Orig. $24.50)
6 - Jersey Boyfriend Cardigans - Old Navy - $15.00 (Orig. $19.50)

What do you guys think of these colors to come? Will you be jumping on the bandwagon, or standing by? Leave your thoughts below.

And the Winner is...

I had a great time hosting the giveaway from Hanes Hosiery last week. Thank you for all your comments, it was so fun! The winner is lucky number 94,

Spied: J.Crew Tissue Ribbon Cardigan

Do you remember my posts proclaiming my love for this cardigan? Well, there is some good new and some bad news. The good news is that this little lady is on sale. The bad news is that J.Crew was running a 20% off promo that ended yesterday! Talk about bad timing. I am considering taking the plunge anyway.

Tissue Ribbon Cardigan - J.Crew - $29.50 $39.50 (Orig. $55.00)

What do you think? Is this price drop enough to get you to buy? Leave your thoughts below.
